Programming
Recently I've started working with Microsoft's Visual Basic 4.0 and trying my hand at programming. My wife and I have outlined a small program that would help with our budgetting concerns. It's still in the works but I am learning more each day. Below I have listed some rather good sites that deal with VB 4.0 and related topics. I highly recommend these Homepages for others interested in learning more about programming. My thanks to Nick Bradbury for his continued assistance. Be sure and download a copy of his HTML Editor, HomeSite v2.0.
This is a poem I borrowed from one of the English professors here at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It is printed here with her permission. Those who know me, know how much I like hot peppers. I share the sentiments of Roland L. Berns, for whom this poem was written.
The Song of Roland
Oh, hot, hot peppers, peppers hot!
How I do crave them when they're not
In my supper's chili pot!Though nibbling on them ev'ry day
will likely burn my tongue away,
Still I grow them anyway.Jal'peños ripe before the fall
Scotch bonnets, cayennes, peppers all,
Hang is ristras on the wall. The harvest comes, and I must glean
The cukes, tomatoes, and green bean,
Freezers full, no space between.Soon colder winds begin to blow:
Bright seedbooks come and always show
New sorts that I've yet to know. One day I will have left this place.
Found eternity out in space.
This achieved with certain grace. Then endless tongue immunity --
Eat, angelic community,
Peppers with impunity!--SYK '93
